Join our first-class team to reinvent in-flight experience. In the role of Manufacturing Engineer II youll play a pivotal part on our engineering team.

The Manufacturing Engineer 2 defines the production process flow and production line structure for design Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Operational Excellence. This role improves operations by supporting production element mainly through Bill of Materials, Routers, and work instructions. This role also contributes to optimizing manufacturing resource usage through continuous improvement
tProvide moderately complex technical deliverables during the manufacturing (production) engineering phase such as production documentation, industrial validation process
2.tProvide High level to design engineering to improve product design for ease of manufacturing, optimization of cost, weight reduction and time to manufacture product
3.tIn product design phase: perform technical analysis that demonstrates production constraints and opportunities are recognized and addressed - evaluate the current state of industrial capacity and capability relative to program requirements - propose changes to program plans to ensure that production cost, quality and delivery objectives can be met.
4.tPerform identification and justification of capital expense and infrastructure investments and oversee their implementation.
5.tReview complex 2D drawings and 3D models for manufacturability.
6.tPerform complex time studies, develop multi-tier work breakdown structures, develop detailed work instructions and contribute to development of specifications
7.tDevelop and maintain industrialization metrics in line with Cabin standard KPIs and communicate performance on a regular basis
8.tCollaborate with other engineering disciplines to provide costing and Bids and Proposals submitted to customers
9.tEnsure that Lean principles are used to impact programs or production lines
10.tEnsure application of regulatory requirements, customer specifications and company specifications.
11.tApply concepts of machining, assembly lines, BOM creation, and production line layout
12.tBe proficient with most site manufacturing procedures.
13.tApply concepts of engineering drawings and 3D models relating to manufacturability.
14.tProficiency with assembly line layout and design, and composites manufacturing.
15.tPerform all other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.

Experience: Minimum 5 years related experience in highly regulated engineering design or production environment.

Computer Skills:
•\tWorking knowledge with ERP systems
•\tWorking knowledge of 3D CAD preferred
•\tGood knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Other Skills:
•\tExperience working at an aircraft or other aerospace OEM
- Must have experience troubleshooting electromechanical components
- Experience soldering and/or riveting preferred
- Experience working in an assembly environment
- Able to draft work instructions
•\tSignificant knowledge of common materials and manufacturing processes used in the aerospace industry
•\tProven ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and models
•\tUse of LEAN tools like VSM, 5S, FMEA, and process maps.
•\tProven organization and communication skills
•\tAbility to work well independently and cross-functionally with minimal oversight.
- Must be onsite at our Carson location.
