Position Summary
As part of the Corporate Endpoint Services Team, this role has been created to support the Application and Desktop Virtualization strategy and systems used by Parker’s team members globally. This position does not have direct reports.
This role will require a high level of interaction with the business, internal teams and our key business partners to deliver and support solutions that meet our customers’ needs. Working in a highly collaborative environment and utilizing ONE1T principles, this role will be primarily focused on supporting and managing VDI technologies as it relates Parker’s global endpoint strategy and roadmap. Additional limited responsibilities may fall generally within the technology scope of the overall VDI solutions including Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, Entra ID, hyper-visors, security and networks.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and advice/consultancy to meet service level agreements and deliver customer satisfaction efficiently and effectively.
- Provide occasional out of business hours support for critical service issues or maintenance that cannot be performed during normal business hours.
- Assist VDI team and leadership with designing, implementing, and supporting future VDI solutions and initiatives.
- Monitor and help drive improvements of the health of Parker’s VDI solutions with a focus on security and end user experience.
- Work closely with endpoint and other security teams, to ensure VDI security practices are aligned with overall security strategy.
- Engage with division IT teams to support effective VDI strategies aligned to business requirements of our manufacturing and operational groups.
- Work closely with outside partners and vendors to deliver VDI solutions for the benefit of Parker.
- Stay informed on the general VDI environment and landscape. Make recommendations for the betterment of Parker’s VDI solutions and strategy.
- Work with VDI team leadership to understand specific security threats, assess impact to Parker, recommend action and assist with execution of changes to remediate or resolve the threat.
- Prepare for and participate in occasional technical presentations to varying levels of the organization.
- Assist with VDI integration and standardization of mergers and acquisitions.

- Degree in computer science, information systems, or related area or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years related IT experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills
- Demonstrated leadership aptitude, learning agility, and adaptability
- Strong interpersonal skills, relates well with all levels of the organization
- Ability to establish own priorities and adapt to changing priorities
- Demonstrates ability to manage projects

- Previous experience in VDI administration preferred.
- Positive, self-motivated individual who can deliver on goals independently with little to no daily supervision.

- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending appropriate educational workshops and training courses.
- Broad/diverse IT infrastructure knowledge outside of security preferred.
- Previous software and desktop support experience preferred.
- Good organizational and multi-tasking skills and the ability to prioritize accordingly.
- Proven IT analytical and troubleshooting skills along with attention to detail.
