Job Description:

Part Time Position

The Defense Contract Specialist / Contract Administrator is responsible for overseeing all transactions relating to the processing of U.S. Government solicitations or RFQs (Request for Quotes) for aviation related supplies and services in support of short and long term contracts.  This can include direct prime contracts with the government, as well as subcontracts with third parties for U.G. Government end use.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Complete AAR provided training for Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).

  • Research Government sites for new open solicitations, including working with Government agencies for continuous updated material.

  • Review and process open RFQs and RFPs provided by Government/Customer Reviews complex solicitations and prepares specialized and/or non-routine response for proposals, bids, and contract modifications in accordance with FAR and DFARS.

  • Review and Process awarded contracts in accordance with FAR and DFARs regulations.

  • Coordinate with Government/Customer regarding the issuance of contract modifications.

  • Responsible for entire contractual life-cycle administration of contracts and other activity as assigned, including maintenance of solicitation and contract folders throughout life of contract.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with Government agencies or applicable Customer.

  • Complete any and all reporting requirements, as applicable.

  • Work with team members in the Defense group to ensure the highest service level possible.

  • All other duties assigned

Job Requirements:

What you will need to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Familiarity with Government regulations FAR & DFARS is preferred but not required.

  • Prior experience managing Government/Defense contracts preferred.
